Partnership Boosts Community Flora and Fauna Project
BHP Billiton has announced a 3 year partnership with the HDLN, supplying $42,650 of funding for the Flora and FaunaCommunity Education and Habitat Enhancement Project.
The funding goes directly to the six Landcare groups for on-ground works such as tree planting and weed control in areas of high value for local flora and fauna.
The groups will also receive funding for an annual education activity about local flora and fauna. A number of projects are already in the pipeline for the next 12 months, including a fish forum and education program at the Gellibrand River to be managed by the Princetown Landcare Group next Easter.
We look forward to working in partnership with BHP Billiton to keep creating significant environmental and social outcomes locally.
